Philodendrons have been a staple of indoor gardening for many years. Care for philodendrons is simple because, if you listen to its signals, it will tell you exactly what it needs. This simplifies the process of caring for a philodendron greatly.

Light: Create bright, dappled light that resembles the shade of a tropical canopy. Under the correct circumstances, philodendrons can grow in almost full sun, but they also do well in light shade. If a large number of the leaves turn yellow at the same time, it may be a sign that the plant is receiving too much direct sunlight. It can require additional light if you see that it is growing lanky.

Philodendrons prefer rich, loose potting soil that retains a high level of organic content and drains well. They can develop in moss made entirely of sphagnum peat.

Fertilizer : Regular fertilization will result in larger and healthier leaves on philodendron plants. Apply weekly liquid fertilizer or slow-release pellets at the start of the growing season. Fertilize your plants simply once a month or so during the winter.
