Watering

Watering

Moderate watering: Water the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry. Dracaena Surculosa prefers slightly moist soil but is susceptible to root rot if overwatered. Ensure the pot has good drainage and avoid letting the plant sit in water. In winter, reduce watering as the plant's growth slows.
fertilizer

fertilizer

Light feeding: Fertilize the plant once a month during the growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer. Avoid fertilizing in the winter months when the plant is dormant.
temperature

temperature

Keep the plant in temperatures between 60-75°F (16-24°C). Avoid placing it near cold drafts, heaters, or air conditioners, as it is sensitive to sudden temperature changes.
sunlight

sunlight

Indirect sunlight: Place the plant in bright, indirect light to encourage the development of its signature spotted foliage. It can also tolerate low light, but the gold spots may become less vivid. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves.

Dracaena Surculosa Maculata, commonly known as the Gold Dust Dracaena or Spotted Dracaena, is an elegant and unique variety of the Dracaena family. Unlike the typical tall, upright Dracaenas, this plant has a more bushy and compact growth habit with slender, arching stems. Its most distinctive feature is its lance-shaped, glossy green leaves adorned with creamy white or golden yellow spots, resembling dust or speckles, which gives it the "Gold Dust" name.

The leaves are oval-shaped and can grow up to 5-6 inches long. New leaves often emerge with fewer spots and gradually develop more pronounced variegation as they mature. This Dracaena's compact size and decorative foliage make it ideal for small spaces, shelves, or office desks.

Dracaena Surculosa Maculata thrives in indirect light but can also tolerate lower light conditions, though its spotted pattern may become less vivid. It is a slow-growing plant but easy to maintain, requiring moderate watering and enjoying well-draining soil. Its bushy appearance and distinctive spotted leaves make it a striking addition to any indoor plant collection.
